We offer a range of assessments, including COP3s, PA14s and decision-specific assessments. We can provide court-compliant testamentary capacity, revocation, retrospective and even litigation reports.

Our consultants are all trained to UK court standards, and we work closely with our legal training partners to ensure our knowledge remains up to date. We're proud to maintain a 100% acceptance rate of our assessments, and we frequently receive comments from solicitors, counsel and even judges about the quality of our assessments. Some of us have even been mentioned in case law by senior judges.

Mental Capacity Assessments

We offer expert assessor assistance for challenging unlawful NHS Continuing Healthcare decisions. We can even assist with an independent CHC Checklist or help at a Decision Support Toolkit (DST) meeting.

If you're a family member or client who has been wrongly denied health funding from the NHS, or unlawfully charged for your care by the council, then we can help.

We can partner with an appeals company or work with you and a solicitor to manage your CHC claim. We can provide a CHC expert for a second opinion, or even give evidence at your Local Resolution Panel (LRP) or NHS England appeal hearing. We've secured hundreds of thousands of pounds in unlawful charges made by public bodies over the years. In one case, we supported the return of over a quarter of a million pounds. We're the go-to experts in health and care funding appeals.

NHS Continuing Healthcare Appeals

We provide Health and Welfare services as Professional Attorneys* and Court Appointed Deputies*. You can ask us to act for you under a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA), or we're happy to discuss us acting as proposed deputies* in an application to the Court of Protection. If you are looking for a Property and Financial Affairs attorney or deputy, we have a great link with several specialist solicitors who are experts in this area, and we are happy to make an introduction with them.

Only our senior consultants undertake this work; all have at least 10 years post-qualifying experience in health and social care. We can act for life, and undertake this as professional individuals (rather than a corporate appointment), which means we'll be your named consultant for the duration of the LPA or Deputyship Order.

* Please note that if we act under a LPA or Deputyship, we always provide two consultants. You will typically have a lead for welfare (often a social worker) and a lead for health (often a nurse or occupational therapist). We strongly recommend that we be appointed jointly and severally. We also limit our allocations to no more than 10 clients per senior consultant.
